The Big Question for most of people is which one is better, and Faster and Cheaper?

Wordpress? Shairpoint? joomla? .... or DotNetNuke?

Dot NetNuke is very High consumption and usualy you can not use regular hosting and I think minimum requirement is VPS or dedicated server. because most of hosting use 150MB-200MB for IIS and DNN can not use correctly with this memory.

If any professional person is hear, I want t ask him, Please tell us what is Exact Minimum Requirement for a DNN 7.x.x with an online shopping Module, DNNArticle Module, Feedback and survey module, help desk module, links module, document module, google analytic module, form and list module and 2-3 other modules that install and use with 100-500 visit per day.

Which kind of Hosting we need to use this platform very fast and easy without "Server Error 503".

What is Important Settings after installing all extensions in DNN 7.x.x?

Is there any important Notes for Skins also?

Best Regards

Armin Rahimian

Armin,
it is hard to give exact numbers for memory consumption of a DNN website - this depends of the number of modules as well as cached objects - and the more caching you enable, the better your website will perform. According to your requirements, you should expect just for the W3WP process between 500 and 1000 MB RAM consumed.

Thanks for your clear answer.

Can I set Application pool recycle program to restart it and control this problem? is it useful or is it any other setting to better memory management.

Thanks for your useful answers

you may force app tool to recycle after some memory has been consumed, but if this limit is set to low, the site may recycle prior to all data being loaded, i.e. the site becomes inaccessible. RAM is not really an expensive resource today, if your hosting provider doesn't provide you with a proper plan, check out others or hosting in the cloud.

I have more than 20 Active DNN 6.2.5, 7.0.0, 7.1.0, 7.2.0, 7.2.2 On my Dedicated Server in Hetzner Germany Data Center.
When I look at Memory Usage minimum of Memory usage is 230MB and some one are more than 1-2 GB for a portal with 4-12 sub-portals...!!!

But Normally they are between 350-500MB per each Portal.

It mean's any one need to use DNN, It's very dangerous to using Hosting for that. Windows hosting basically is very expensive than Linux and when you need VDS or VPS it will more expensive. and when new clients compare coast they will choose other platform like Wordpress, Joomla and Durpal. It's very difficult to explain about features and compare DNN with them because they are looking for Template Effects and Speed and Price in First Step.

I want to know What is solution of DNN Corp. to reach near them and try to make cheaper and faster CMS? is it possible in soon future like Release 7.4.0 or 8.0.0? Fast and only 100MB memory usage?

If the Target Be 100MB IIS memory usage, and Speed come to half of wordpress, I'm sure DNN will get 50% of CMS around the world.... Because It's very Professional and easy and user friendly and Memory Usage and Speed is 99% of UnLike and No user friendly for users....

What time we reach to this target?
