Hi,

I am sure this has been asked many times but the search is failing to come with anything.

What is the difference  between module control types 'Edit' and 'View'?

Looking at the documentation in 'Professional Dotnetnuke module programming', it looks like using NavigateUrl() and EditURL() do similar things so why have both?

View controls do not require that users have "Edit" permission to the module. NavigateUrl & EditUrl do similar, but EditUrl handles the addition of the MID parameter for you easier. NOTE: Current version ModuleContext is the better place to go rather than the items from DotNetNuke.Common.Globals

Hi Mitchel,

What do edit permissions let the user do i.e. how does it manifest itself on the page?
