Hi Guys

im sorry i didnt realise i wasnt explaining myself correctly.  There are some attributes that you can set on your control rather than thru the CSS.  As per my example in my first post i have noticed that some of these attributes dont seem to make a dofference- alomost asif they are being ignored, while some others definately work.

for example gvborre like what you have done above but instead of doing it via uploading an XML file full of parameters (i never could get that to work) i choose to add these attributes and values in the control as i work in ascx mode.

i had tried to set a very thick menu item height (menuitemheight="100") just to see if it worked but nothing appears 100 high, in fact nothing changed.  why would this be?  perhaps these attributes dont really relate to what they sound like they relate to.

in the past 24 hours you may notice that i have quite a nice looking menu.  this was only done via CSS and not without a lot of tears and prozac.

Dear quintin79

Of course you can set the attributes directly in your control. You can choose to upload a html file with the necessary .xml file or upload directly a user control where the properties of the dnn-controls are set. But that you know I think...

By the way it is normal that he can't understand what menuitemheight="100" means...
Perhaps he can understand: menuitemheight="100px".

Both actually!  I've not touched the XML at all - since I'm working directly on the controls.  I'll test to see if that helps in this case.

THanks
