Hi at all,

I need to develop a new file manager based on SQL table, the File Manager used in DNN 7.1.2 is that I want, I go to search it in DNN source package, but I don't found it, I see that use the Telerick FileExplorer, and try to use the wrapper, but I cannot read the folder list from my table.

There is a point were I can see the DNN File Manager for take example?

Thanks,

Simone

Hi ,

Yes the  Telerick FileExplorer wrapper is a good starting point.

It can use custom providers for the content.

Here a exemple with sql database.

You can find more info on the telerik website.

The filemanager found in DNN 7.1.2 is based around a module called DigitalAssets

Have a look in the DNN_Platform.Modules section of the source code library.
The module is DotNetNuke.Modules.DigitalAssets.

Depending on what you need to do - you might be able to directly leverage the DigitalAssets module with a custom folder provider that directly access the SQL tables.

NOTE - fwiw dnn already comes with a built in secure SQL folder provider which lets you configure a table in the sql server as a folder in the dnn file store - that can be accessed directly inside the dnn filemanager - and from your modules etc.

PS - To try out the sql folder - use the file manager to create a new folder in the dnn file manager - you will be given an option to select sql as the storage location.
