I've just upgraded an old site to 7.2 and noticed that under Host > Installed Extensions > Providers, there are a whole bunch of providers that seem to have old version numbers next to them.  For example...

CKEditor HTML Editor Provider                   CKEditor Html Editor Provider for DotNetNuke                                                                     1.14.0
DotNetNuke Scheduling Provider              DotNetNuke Scheduling Provider Project provides a scheduling service                         5.6.0
DotNetNuke Search Indexer Provider        DotNetNuke Search Indexer Provider Project provides a module indexing service.      5.6.0
DotNetNuke Search Provider                       DotNetNuke Search Provider Project provides a search service.                                        5.6.0

Is this right?  Should an upgrade to 7.2 remove, or update these older 5.6.0 providers?

I'm still a bit confused about these providers, and how to clear them out - and whether I should..

The UI has a column for "In Use", and "Upgrade" but all of them are blank. Does this mean that none of them are being used? Is this feature even working in DNN?

Also, some have the delete icon next to them, and others don't.

How do I know which ones I can safely delete, and how can I delete the ones that don't have a delete icon.

The thing is, I've just spent sooo much time (days!), trying to figure out why the scheduler on my site was causing errors and causing the application to restart. Turns out it was because of an old reference to the scheduling provider. Once I updated that, it worked OK.

So leaving things alone will eventually cause issues I believe.

Now that I can see all of these other providers from a previous version?, I'm keen to get rid of them, or at least understand why they are still there.

The DNN installation says that none of them are in use, but only some some a delete button next to them - what gives?

There seems to be very little information around on what these things are, what they do, and how to determine if they are even being used. If the core DNN installation is accurate, none of them are even being used, which I find hard to believe.
