I have development background; and trying to create a skin for my personal site; and I have few questions. I am sorry if I am asking the questions again; I tried searching on forums; but couldn’t find anything.

  • DNN emits an anchor tag before adding each control. Unfortunately it’s causing trouble in graphics layout. How to disable it? Disabling it will have any consequences?
  • Clicking on Login link; the panes get disappeared and only login control is show; I want to continue to display the bottom pane which has site bottom navigation. How can I do this?
  • While writing HTML in Text/HTML control; when I use any graphic file or wants to link to some page; DNN uses absolute path; it appears it will not be portable when I will deploy the thing with my ISP. What’s the best approach for this?
  • I want to have the page hierarchy; but in SOLPARTMENU I only wish that parent nodes are shown. How can I do this?

Thanks for taking some time...

  1. Not sure what you mean there, could you show us an example?
  2. The login page will use the "Admin" skin. Check in your site settings under Admin > Site Settings and make sure your skin set there is the skin you want.
  3. That is a function of your editor. I'm  not sure how to address this one becasue I use the r.a.d. editor from Telerik. I have some installations running the FCK editor and it, when installed as instructed uses relative paths.
  4. Only the parent page of the page the user is on? Or only top level pages? Look at the "Page Settings" and you can mark the page as "Hidden", that will remove it from the menu.

Dear khuziz

Yes you're right...
It's irritate me too.
There are so many (I name it so) 'HARDCODE STYLES' - by creating certain modules or controls like &nbsp; or simply a few spaces between the <td>      </td> tags of tables.
What irritate me in a special way is that some designers use cellpadding and cellspacing in tables... You can't set a layout like you want and they don't use special css-styles for the different cells.
That said... I love dnn and I thanks the many designers for the efforts they have done and every day do.
