Hi,

I installed DotNetNuke 4.3.1

My machine is Windows XP.

I installed on SQL Server 2000.

After I have done all necessary operations(creating user, folder permissions, etc.), I opened htpp//localhost/DotNetNuke_2

and at the and of the setup I got following error:

00:00:05.796 - Executing Additional Scripts:
00:00:05.796 -   Creating Portal: My Website
00:00:06.203 -   Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
00:00:06.203 -   Portal failed to install:
00:00:06.203 - Installing Optional Resources:

Any help will be appreciated kindly.

Judging from your folder/site name /DotNetNuke_2 I'd guess you're using the starter kit or installing through VWDE or VStudio.  Did you verify the site's folder grants teh ASPNET account on your machine full access to the folder and file (including subfolders)?  This looks a little different error, so you might also verify that the SQL DB account is dbo on the database as well.
