Is there a way to get the DNN File/Folder indexer to not include a specific directory.  The equivalent of a .NOMEDIA file being present in Android, or a robots.txt being recognized/respected would be nice.

We are using node.js and grunt in our skin development more and more.  Having DNN pickup the node_modules directory that process generates is not only unnecessary, but slows down file browsers all over the site.

you can use the UI to set permissions so the file is not shown i.e. in admin->file management right click the folder, go to folder properties and set the permissions (or remove the open/browse option). Alternatively click edit to go into edit mode and edit the module settings , click on the digital asset management settings and you can configure view settings (this may require you to move the folder to a different level e.g. the folders level. However both of these are for the digital asset manager module - if you want it to affect the various pickers you're better reorganising your folder structure e.g. have the files as part of an extension in desktopmodules
