I'm new to the DNN development. All the videos I've watched so don't talk anything about what I'm trying to do.

What is the proper way of dealing with adding webforms for specific actions. For example on my View.ascx I have a button labeled "Add New Item". When I clicked I want to use dnnModal.show() to open a another webform that will deal with adding items process.

For personal preference I would prefer not to use View.ascx for everything. Is that possible with dnn7?

Thanks in advance.

DNN always run in a form, e.g. you are putting your module content into controls and are able to navigate (using navigateurl and editurl) between it as you need.

typically you do this by adding a module control as an edit control (as long as you've used the supportsPopups setting it will work as expected - http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/...) -you can customize navigation via the API as Sebastian mentioned (http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/...) .You may want to read/watch the material at http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... to get a better understanding on how custom modules integrate within DNN
