Hello,

I used to have a container in DNN 6 which added an Action to the Manage button. This link dissapeared when upgrading to DNN 7.

My containers is an ASCX containers. I used to do:

MenuActions.Insert(0, myCustomModuleAction)
on the actions container and it worked well. Have this changed in DNN7? How can I add this menu without writing my whole container from scratch again? My containers is an ASCX containers. I used to do:

Thanks!

Hi Mona,

Does the button shows up in Edit mode? I had that issues as well when we upgraded from 6.x to 7. Our action buttons in the container then only showed op when the user had Edit rights in the module. Unfortunately thats the new way in dnn 7.

Hi Mona,

(I'm having touble to reply on your post but I give it another try). I think the action menu in the container will only appear when the user has edit rights for the particular module. This is a new thing in DNN7. We had the problem as well and solved it with creating skin object in stead of a menu item.

To test if this is the problem, hit Edit Page with your admin/host account and see whether the action is visible.

Note to Martijn- you couldn't post as your user was still unmoderated (as you only had 2 previous posts) - we do this to users with low post counts to avoid spam (some days we get a few dozen pieces of spam). I've unmoderated you now, and deleted the 6 other replies you attempted :)

Hello Martijn,

I can't see my own action menu even in edit mode. I have contacted DNN support and they told me they couldn't make it work on their side either.... The told me to put my custom action in my modules instead of the container. Which is a shame because it's an action that was valid for every module and I don't want to edit every module...

Thank you for taking the time to answer,
