I work for a franchise-style company.  We have a need for an

A = Intranet for our corporate employees
B = Extranet for our franchisees
C = An additional physically seperated extranet for the vendors we do business with

I wanted to it to be a situation where:

Site C trusts any access made with accounts from site A or B credentials
Site B trusts any access made with accounts from site A credentials
Site A only trusts access made with accounts from itself (Which also happen to be Active Directory integrated)

Each site will be a physically different box with seperate installs of SQL 2005.  Site A will have SQL 2005 and Sites B and C will have SQL Express.  The reason for this is in case a vendor hacks Site C, they have no access to site B or A.  Also if a franchisee hacks site B, they have no access to site A.

Does anyone know if this configuration is possible and if so how?

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Hi - I'm trying to look for where the problems are in this configuration which it seems you've spent some time planning. What in particular are you trying to achieve?

I am wondering why you need so many installations.  Is it for security only?

I know many people who are running with portals with alot of depth - eg.. many sub portals off one code base.

Can you clarify what I'm missing - eg.. what is it you can't do.. setup the multiple sites, work out how to incorporate the permissions into the multiple separate installs?

Unless I'm missing something, there's nothing here that I can't see is possible.
