you can't -dnn updates objects (stored procedures, views etc.), schema (tables etc.) and data during the upgrade process so you cannot simply export data from one version to another. You can attempt to use a portal template (cant recall if they were even supported in a version that old), http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... , but it's unlikely to work on such a large leap of version. I'd recommend an upgrade following the advice from http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/...

You don't.

Run the upgrade installs. You can download them from Codeplex. Check on the wiki for the recommended upgrade stages. It's unlikely to work if you try to jump that far in one go.

There is a very good reason for the upgrade steps.

DNN 3.2.2 required and ran on .NET 2 and was not compatible with .NET 4, while the current version requires .NET 4 and will give unexpected behavior on .NET 2.

Also since 3.2.2 we have dropped support for SQL Server 2000 - so you should pay close attention to the version of SQL server you are using before upgrading.

Thant's not quite accurate - DNN 3 was requiring .Net 1.1, DNN 4 was designed to use .Net 2.0
