I noticed today my portal aliases had some entries I didn't add.  I suspect spammers due to the portal aliases that where added.  I had some old .net modules that where built for me a few years ago.. I suspect the vulnerability being in one of those..  My host and sql pw are very secure.  Any ideas of where I need to check for how they got it?

there is an Option to auto-add Portal aliases (in Website Settings), make sure that it is turned off.

Do you know off hand if there is a way to turn this off via the database, using SQL? I am having a lot of issues with this and my site is redirecting so I have no access to the website settings.

 Thanks,

 Beth Vest

it is in table HostSettings, you need to update "AutoAddPortalAlias", e.g. by running the following statement in Host > SQL:
UPDATE {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}HostSettings]
SET SettingValue = 'N'
WHERE SettingName = 'AutoAddPortalAlias';
