Hi,

I have been looking at DNN for about a year as aplatform for my next job.  I now have that job and am in need of a little expert advice.  I am the new Dierector of Everything Internet at a major US Radio & TV group.  We have over 90 radio & TV stations.  I REALLY like the idea of using DNN as our web development and content management management platform.

Here are my questions.

We are planning on starting out with two load dbalanced web servers and a dual processor SQL 2005 server.  How does DNN run a web farm environment like I described?

I'll have a fairly complicated user access structure.  What would be ideal is something like

  • Corporate user: Complete access of over all portals
  • Market user: Complete access to all portals in a particular city
  • Station User: Complete Access over a particular portal
  • Special User: Can update some pages

Of course this doesn't even address regular old users who are just veiwing the sites, I'm really talking about creating and editing pages.  Does DNN handle this kind of structure easily?

Can/Should Portals be nested i.e.
Corporate::Market::Station  if this is possible what are the benefits and drawbacks.

Thanks for any advice you are willing to offer.
