I am running DNN 7.2.2 and was using the member directory friend filter just fine. I was redoing a page and deleted the member directory module. When I re-added it, I got no members found ( there are friends) the funny thing is that I restored the old module from the recycle bin to its original page and it worked fine. I then moved the module to the new page and now the filter doesn't work anymore.

I am only using 1 portal

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Sebastian

Yes it did. Both the old and new pages are/were under the Activity Feed. The other filters None, User, Group, Profile work ok. The only thing that really changed was the tabid.

/Directory/Connections/ActivityFeed/MyConnections/tabid/594/UserId/315/Default.aspx

Thanks for quick reply.  I have no idea what to check. Any ideas?

Ok I thought I found the issue. In module settings there are 3 fields for the member directory. Filterby, FilterpropertyValue and Filter Value.

1. The filterby property is Relationship,
2. FilterPropertyValue was blank
3. The FilterValue was 3

I put the word Relationship in the FilterPropertyValue field and it worked. It doesnt seem to do anything with the FilterValue as I can change it to any number and it doesn't affect anything. Do you know what the values should be for FilterValue?

It worked until I tried to view another users friends and now it stopped working again

Ok - after many iterations of trying to figure this out, I determined that the issue is caused any time that I save the member directory module settings. What I found to correct this is to go into the database and in the module settings for member directory, find the module id that is affected. There are 3 fields for the member directory. Filterby, FilterpropertyValue and Filter Value.

I am not sure why but I needed to make a change in one of the fields and then restart the application under host settings. It was this combination that finally worked.

1. The filterby property is Relationship,
2. FilterPropertyValue was blank and I changed it to Relationship
3. The FilterValue was 3

Weird behavior. I am not sure what would cause this and why I needed to change a field in the database. FYI I tried it without updating the database and I could not get it to display. Maybe there is a cache issue....
