I have a requirement to have a prompt that has a search ability. For example I would like to add someone to a group, but the "someone" list is several thousand people long. What I'm looking for is a DNN friendly control that would allow you to enter some search criteria and return a primary key, similar to what a drop down list does.

In the IronSpeed world there's what called a "large list selector" that does just this. Is there something similar in the DNN world I can leverage?

there is no generic control, but we do have lots of examples within the source code e.g. DnnPageDropDownList -in each case these are reusable controls that have settings that are used to generate service framework requests to provide a filtered "populate-on-demand" set of results
