Hello all,

I just downloaded and installed the platform and watched the first two videos numerous times. The file structure and IIS are set up properly. I skipped the 3rd video as Chris suggests because I am using SQL Express. When I started the 4th video and tried opening dnndev.me in any browser it just loads a blank page. I tried restarting IIS. I checked my binding. I restarted...reinstalled...rinse...repeat...still doesn't work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

all dnndev.me does is resolve to 127.0.0.1 - as long as you have a site that will respond to that IP it will work. If you are seeing a blank page then either you have an odd default document on the site (i.e. index.html rather than default.aspx), or the binding is wrong - you can verify this by looking at the site id for your website and checking the IIS logs to see if the request is arriving at the IIS site that holds the dnn files

Thanks for the response.

The binding was set to "All unassigned" and I changed it to 127.0.0.1 with no affect. The default doc is default.aspx. All I did was copy everything from the platform download zip file as instructed in the video. When I run appcmd list site dnndev.me It sends back an error saying insufficient permissions on redirection.config.

Even though I have this installed on a desktop just so I can look at the software I tried giving explicit permissions to my domain account (admin) and to dnndev.me.

you need to make sure that the windows account, configured as ASP.Net identity for the Application pool utilized by your IIS website, has edit permission for the DNN folder and all content and subfolders.
