I need to remove a module from a running site. I am using the Ventrian Simple gallery and for some reason it is just hosing my whole site. The site just won't come up and eventually times out. I normally love Ventrian products but for some reason it isn't playing well with my DNN 7 site. Is there a good way to remove a live module without destroying my whole site? I do not have access to the site, so I need a way to remove it via FTP and database.

 Thanks,

Beth Vest

you may either uninstall in Host > Extensions or swtich to layout mode to remove the module from the page.

The site is not accessible, it times out after a few minutes. The module is responsible. I need to remove this through the database, somehow. I was told to remove it from the page that way but I have poked around and I can't determine the proper Module ID and even where I think I have the correct number, it is showing in the tables as being installed in a module entitled newsletters, which isn't even possible.  I need help to remove it through the database.

you may remove the .dll file of the module from /bin Folder.
Afterwards you may uninstall the module.

Is it only the home page that won't come up? Have you tried going to your.siteurl.com/admin.aspx and using Page Management to copy the page with the problem, but excluding the module?
