First, this is NOT an Adobe Issue.... I have a fairly new laptop, NEVER had adobe reader installed, but I do have FoxIt Reader installed (Great Alt. Reader BTW) and I am still having the issue.

I believe it is in the fileclick, but not sure, it could also be a MS update... I do know however that the filename can be FileName.pdf, and when you try to open it on the computer it will say cannot find FileName[1].pdf I have tried clearing History/Temp folders all to no avail. Downloading directly DOES work, but not just straight opening the file....

bschmitt:  The issue you are encountering is a different problem to that being reported in this post.  The "file not found" error in IE is an IE bug, not an abobe one.

Everyone else:  The blank pdf problem is not an issue unique to DNN - just do a google search - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=adobe+reader+blank+page&meta=

If anyone has any information we can use to work around this problem in DNN, we'll definitely have a look at it.

I MIGHT be willing to agree with you, however, why does it work if I set the file as an External Link?
The file downloads just fine... Doesn't seem as though that could be an IE issue????

It will be because when you use IIS to send the file (as an "external link"), IIS is preparing the HTTP headers, etc.  A few weeks ago, I posted a message in the team leads forum asking if we could add a line to set the "content-length" HTTP header in the core DownloadFile function (the problem you are having is with a core function).  I received a response that the code has been added (it should be in the DNN core 4.3.5).  When that version is released generally (at the moment it is available to platinum benefactors, I believe), it may resolve the issue.  That is: The PDF viewer may require this Http header, which would account for some of the problems linking to PDFs.

"Everyone else:  The blank pdf problem is not an issue unique to DNN - just do a google search"

Commenting on this:

I have 4 web servers on my domain. 2 running DotNetNuke, and 2 running Ixos Livelink.

From the same client PC, pdfs work correctly on both Ixos sites and the DotNEtNuke 4.3.5 site (as well as any Internet web site). However on the remaining DotnetNuke 4.3.4 site they started coming up with a blank page 3 days ago.

If I log on to another users PC all 4 work for me. If others log on to my machine only 3 work for them.

So therefore I deduct it must be a problem with my PC.

But, the google links I followed all suggest that either the web server is not configured correctly ( so how come it serves the pdfs correctly to everone else?) or the client PC is not configured correctly ( so how come I can access pdfs correctly everywhere else?).
