thanks, the regex is now fixed (you can see it in the screenshot to verify)

I have set this up on my site, so you can see it here:
http://www.ifinity.com.au/default.asp...
http://www.ifinity.com.au/register

Both these Urls return a 404. Unfortunately the request filter isn't set up to use the standard 404 page because it's earlier in the pipeline but I don't think it matters much anyway as it's just trying to stop bots.

I have seen several hundred bogus registrations on this site, but they stopped dead as soon as I made this change. I'll be running a script to delete them all now that they are properly stopped.

I've turned off the View access to the Biography & photo of  Admin>Site settings>User accounts  where we arent using the social side, which at least stops their dodgy SEO backlinks info entering our websites and being visible. Turning off registration where you can seems like a safe idea for anyone who hasnt the confidence to mess with the SQL.

We could do with a robust solution ready built into the DNN  application if anyone's up for that job please :)

The captcha DNN uses is one of the easiest to crack. The characters are too clear, independent and not distorted. It might have worked when it came out but now it's time to replace it. The one from Telerik is more advanced. http://www.telerik.com/products/aspne...
