Hi,

I'm posting here, because there doesn't appear to be a forum called "Arrggh, help my website crashed for no reason!".

Anyhow, a client site just stopped working, and didn't recover. If I look in the weblog, it just stops at 09:21:50, no entry for any kind of IIS failure state. A search bot "Majestic12" is hammering the site, but it shouldn't crash should it?

In the system log, there is an error "System.AppDomainUnloadedException", "Attempted to access an unloaded AppDomain" at 10:22:01 - I have no idea if this item is related, but the system log is in BST, so this is only 11 seconds after the message in the web log.

In DNN log there are many messages that the SearchBoost thread in DNN was aborted.

I think that for some reason, the AppDomain in DNN completely unloaded and no reasons were logged anywhere.

What can I do to A) fix the issue, or B) configure to log stuff when something happens. Any ideas welcome.

DNN Version: DotNetNuke Community Edition 07.00.03 (64)

Thanks for any help with this problem, I currently have no starting point.

Thanks,

Mark

You should be able to recycle and restart the IIS application pool, this should bring back your website.
I would upgrade at least to DNN 7.1.2

you may also wish to check with the SearchBoost vendor (dnnsharp I believe) in case this is a known and resolved issue

Also, ask the hosting company to try to block the user hammering your web site. No sense allowing it to continue.
