We really like the new search in DNN722 (Lucene) but unfortunately we get a lot of complains about the layout and look & feel of the searchresults and the searchbox.

We tried to solve this by changing the templates and css but there's not really a template you can use.
You have to do all the customization in the ascx and js files.

This is not what we prefere because when you upgrade you lose these changes.

I assume more users experience this issue. Does anyone have a better solution for this?

Hi Willem - You are right, we do not have templating in search results. What sort of customization are you looking at?

Although it would be nice if search would be template based, I did manage to get it to behave using only CSS.
I mainly needed a more simple interface.
You will need Firebug a lot but it is possible.

The site is still in development, so I cannot post an example.

@Timo: I am running out of usecases to be able to say: You cannot do this by using only CSS. I have to change this sentence to: If you want to do this by using only CSS - ask Timo. ;-)

 I agree it should be from a template BTW. That would make it so much easier...
