Hi everyone,

I have a client that has been running on DNN for years and we decided that he needed to upgrade to DNN 7.x which required rebuilding the site from scratch. We used a variation of their primary domain name to build the new site. I finished the new site this morning. I added the correct alias in DNN to handle both domain names. I canceled the older hosting space and reassigned the primary domain to the new site space. The site is now showing up with the new domain as expected. BTW - I have done this plenty of times with other DNN sites without problem.

The issue is: I can login just fine with the admin account, but the host account (user: host) is not working. I'm being prompted that the user name / password is incorrect. I know this is the correct password for account because I have used it dozens of times during the site development. I even used the "retrieve password" to have DNN send the password, but nothing ever showed up.

Is there any method to recover host access to the site? Would having direct edit access to the SQL db help?

Thanks for any advice offered.

Jim

you may update users set isSuperuser = 1 where username Like 'myAdmin'
use your admin name for myAdmin and restart IIS app pool

Thanks Sebastian. I had planned on trying that, but the hosting company (Godaddy) no longer has the on-line tools to modify the SQL db -- I can only view it. I've started another thread asking about SQL db editing options / suggestions. It's frustrating to only need to edit a single entry to get things going again and I can't do it...

Thanks again!

Jim
