Hi,

After DNN installed successfully, can remove the install and config folder?

no - at least you shouldn't. There is code for installation of extensions included, which will be re-added upon next upgrade.
You may, however, remove .resources files inside authentication, modules, providers, languages and skins subfolder of /install, if you don't plan to install these extensions.

Thanks.

Install folder is for install and upgrade only, isn't it?

If I removed and put it back before next upgrade, it should be no problem, I'm I right?

How about config folder?

What should be the reason to remove one of these folders?

The Config folder contains various configurations, e.g. for site urls. It is no good idea to remove it.

Best wishes
Michael

Hi Thanks.

It's because of the security concern.

I tried to remove these two folders, the site seemed ok. Maybe I need to copy back the folder for next round upgrading?
