Hello,

I've run into some frustrating behavior on DNN 7.2 that it took me a while to figure out.

Because it wasn't working well at all (popups appearing all over the place, mostly below the bottom of the page), I disabled popups via the admin menu. Now everything looks clean and works well. Happy with that solution.

However, I've been unable to find any photo gallery module that works with popups disabled.  In both IE10 and FF30, gallery modules work when one is logged in even if the admin setting is "popups disabled". However, as soon as one is logged out, the gallery modules I've tried (Strohl's and DNNSmart's for example) cease popping up and simply load the image into a new page in the same window. I'm guessing there is some key JS library these modules need that is available when one is logged in regardless of the popup setting but is not available when one is logged out.

Presumably there is some straightforward way to make the JS library available to these lightbox modules regardless of what the admin setting is? Maybe through the skin?

I used to be a web developer, but now I'm just using rusty and ever more dated skills to set up a V3 website for my outdoor gear company...

Thanks in advance.

I asked DNNSmart the same question, and got a response and a solution within hours -

Their module, and presumably others, is dependent on the jqueryui javascript library within DNN. Whenever the "display pop ups" setting is unchecked in the admin site settings, this js library isn't being loaded on pages served to un logged in sessions. I would consider this a DNN 7.2 bug. Just because you don't want the DNN behavior to use popups doesn't mean that you don't want that library present for other modules to use!

At any rate, DNNSmart very quickly provided me a version of their module that loads this library if it isn't present.
