My question isn't so much about Form & List but I'm hoping someone here could point me to some useful info. What I would like to do is create a custom UI control for a custom user profile property like we can do with custom datatypes in FnL. I was able to create my own datatype & control for FnL and would like to be able to do this for a custom profile property. When you create a new profile property, the options in the Data Type dropdown come from the Lists table (where ListName='DataType') so I'm guessing I would need to create one of those. I haven't been able to find much useful information on this. Searching "custom profile property" gets you the basics on creating a new field in the profile but not the UI controls. There are a couple articles by Charles Nurse back in 2006 about the Property Editor Control but it looks like he planned to do a series of articles and never finished them. I also found a thread about creating an image upload control (http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/forumid/109/threadid/237513/scope/posts/threadpage/1) which Charles commented on. But all of this info is so old I was hoping for some input on what might be my most productive path here. Do I just need to crack open something out of DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls or DotNetNuke.Web.UI.WebControls for guidance or is there a discussion, article or wiki somewhere that I missed? What's the best forum here to post additional questions to?
