Hi,

I have a question for all the core DNN engineers.  I do not have a host account.    I only have an admin account which allows me to see the host menu.   It’s like they are merged.  It has been like this forever.  Is this an issue?  I want to make sure that this is not a problem.  I am trying to upgrade from 7.1 to 7.3 and am having weird issues.

My original install was 5 which was upgraded to 6 and then 7.  I believe I have had no host account since the beginning.

Should I create a host account?  If yes, can you point me in the proper direction on how to do it at this point in time.

Thanks in advance,

James

Make sure that if this is an admin or a host account, the admin account doesn't allow to see the host menu. so check if your account is registred under Admin>User account or Host>SuperUsers, The upgrade require to enter a host account and password in the upgrade start page.

Some DNN 5 versions just created a single admin account with host functions. This is not an issue, If you need a user just with admin permission for a site, you simply need to grant administrators role to this user.
