Hi all,

I'm writing a custom module that will look up user details. All the fields are coming back except password. It seems to be null.

Here's my code:

UserInfo LookUpUser = DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GetUserById(this.PortalId, intUserID);

txtPassword.Text = LookUpUser.Membership.Password;

The second line is attempting to set the current password for the user to the textbox but it's null or empty.

What am I missing? Am I not looking at the correct property or is there a specific way to get it?

Thanks,
Mark

please check, whether user passwords are encrypted or hashed - only encrypted passwords are able to be retrieved.

Sebastian,

How can I tell? I'm running v7.0.3 community edition if that helps.

Regards,
Mark

Never mind, I found out. It's hashed but that's ok because I'd rather have the additional security.
