Sebastian:

Further research shows on different DB UserProfile.PropertyDefinitionID=42 and 66 and not sure what DNN setting allows it to vary.  But now I see that it is consistent from user to user.  So I will allow this # to be in the Module Settings instead of hard coded.

Thanks

Lee

Hello,

Ahh - ok - I see what you mean... Sorry - I thought you meant it was an issue with the format of the values.

Yes, the PropertyDefinitionID is just from whatever that incremented to when that portal was created. Because some portals might have custom profile fields, it can never be guaranteed to be consistent, and that's not DNN's fault.

I see a few basic ways you can do this... You could just have your query use the view and then get the first property for each portal that's named "PostalCode" - that would probably work just fine. Or, presumably in your module's settings or something, you could have some way for admins to set the postal code property ID value.

All profile properties are defined per website and therefore have individual portalids or same property has a specifc PropertyDefinitionID for each website (unless the admin deletes the property in website settings). You may use propertyname and join UserProfile with ProfilePropertyDefinition (on PropertyDefinitionID), if you want to insert/update a single property for all users.
