I created a parent portal named "myportal.com" => OK
I created a child portal named "myportal.com/mychild" => OK
I would like changing "myportal.com/mychild" to "mychild.myportal.com"

To do that, firstly i changed directly HttpAlias from PortalAlias table to "mychild.myportal.com" (and i relaoded web.config to get change) ; secondly, i added the alias "mychild" to "myportal.com" domain from my IIS web hosting.

The results is a 404 error page for "mychild.myportal.com".

Could you explain me how to get my child portal please ?

you only need a single entry in portal alias table for your former child website: "mychild.myportal.com".
You also need to make sure, the address is routed properly to your IIS website, where DNN is installed.
You may check proper routing by directly browsing an image, e.g. mychild.myportal.com/DotNetNuke.png.

Speed up your DNN Websites with TurboDNN

It's better now : my webhosting allows to create subdomains outside the DNS zone, and i didn't see it ; so now, after creating the sudomain mychild.myportal.com, i can view images like mychild.myportal.com/myimage.png. But Not Home page... !!! :

My dnn sub-site contains this aliases configuration in advanced settings :
1. mychild.myportal.com (Primary checked)
2. myportal.com/mychild (Primary not checked, CanonicalUrl option checked)

When i test both URLs : First is KO with "Unavailable server error" page, second is correct with home page displayed.

I tried to configure web.config to customize error details (CustomErrors=off...) rather than classic "Unavailable server error" page, but i can't see error content from subdomain url, it seems working only for a domain url...

So today, i can see images from subdomain, but not viewing aspx pages... Any idea please ?
