I am trying to place some “tracking code” from an analytic software program that I am using on some of our DNN sites.  The code must be placed directly above the closing HEAD tag on each page.

Do you know how I can do this for an environment  that has multiple portals?

Each portal is a unique domain name and will have its own unique “code snippet”.

This is not for Google Analytics but for another software program.  I do not want to manually have to add it to every page on the website via the Page Settings area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have two suggestions:
1. Try create a HttpModule module, insert it into web.config file. Try open the DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Analytics.AnalyticsModule source file as a example.
2. Or you can directly edit default.aspx (and default.aspx.cs), to inject your tracking code. It is more easy and straightforward. Of course, you need to backup it (and restore) when upgrade to new DNN version.

Hi,

There might be another way to do this but you'll have to do this for every page that you want to track.

Click the "Edit Page" button then choose "Page Settings". Click the "Advanced tab".

Scroll down to the "Page Header tags" then paste your code here.

Do this for every page that you need to track.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Geoff
