Thanks again - - We still default back to "home" page.  This is begining to sound like a real catch 22

If you have access to the database you can run the following script:

UPDATE {objectQualifier}Portals set HomeTabID = NULL, LoginTabID=NULL, UserTabID = NULL, SplashTabID = NULL  WHERE PortalID = 0

replace [objectQualifier} with the object qualifier you used (if you used install.config, this defaults to nothing). Run this script directly on the database, and recycle the appPool the site is running in, to make sure the cache is emptied)

cheers,

Erik

New to DNN i just managed to lock the door behind me leaving the keys inside.

I was looking in the database already as i am more familiar with that topic, but your post helped me out.

Hartelijk Dank!

For DNN version 5.6.1 change [for the portal(number) it applies to] in the table "PortalLocalization", field "LoginTabId" to NULL. Starting and stopping the website in IIS is not enough for DNN to pick up the new settings.
