Rorygarand, What I did to compensate for this was to edit the AddUser stored procedure. Specifically,  I replaced the @DisplayName with @FirstName + ' ' + @LastName in the If @UserID is null statement. That'll work until they come up with a fix.

Excellent.  That works for me.  Thank you for the insight.

Display name is used to show the Fullname as is the successor of 'Firstname + " " + Lastname' as this does not fit for all countries. AFAIK, firstname, lastname and displayname cannot be omitted.

Hi leupold, thanks for the reply.
Forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject, but what do other countries use?  Is it common for websites in other countries to ask for display name?

Thanks,
Mike

I would like to know this too as the Display Name did show up in Version 4.0.3 but when I just installed 4.3.3 this functionality has been removed.

Leupold, As a core team member could you answer why the Display Name does not get populated for new users when using integrated Authentication? In an intranet environment using Authentication a new user visits your portal their account is created, but the display name is not populated. This prevents that individual from seeing their name link and therefore they cannot edit their profile.

There has been no display name in 4.0.3, only firstname + ' ' + lastname, that was replaced by an additional field display name, so users from cultures, where the name order is different, can enter their name aedequately.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
