Hi guys

After trying Joomla and Drupal, I have ended up here.

What i want to create is this: Community site with multiple private social groups (Social groups have own hierarchy of categories). The Socials should have the possibility to make their entries public so they are visible for social groups as well as  for public (thereby public categories might be different than private categories).

Example: Private Entry A is listed in Private Group Alpha in Category «AlphaFriends -> New Year Parties -> 2006 at Peters» but the author decides, it should also be visible for public in category «Fun Time -> Parties and Clubs»

I nearly could accomplish what I want with drupal module organic_groups but too many custom changes would have been required to the code and I am not capable of this.

Is something like this possible with Dotnetnuke?

Thank you very much in advance

no, a group can either be private or public, not both I'm afraid, so this means that entries in a private group cannot be made public (well, you could do so by writing a custom implementation against the API)

It sounds like you need a system architecht to verify were you are going with your project. As far as I know Drupal and DNN are equally capabale
