Hi folks!

This is not really a question about DNN, but maybe I can find someone here who knows it - I apologize, if this is too off-topic.

In .Net there is a function that serializes a datetime object to an Int64 called DateTime.ToBinary(). I use this very often in XML data (because this value helps avoiding any localization issues). Now I have the problem that I have to write a function in SQL Server that returns this (Int64) value from a datetime field in a table. Can anybody tell me if there is an equivalent, or has someone already written a function in T-SQL that does the same? (Using CLR in SQL Server is not an option!)

you would use DateDiff with .Net base date, but you need to take into account the max values for milliseconds (1day) and seconds (68 years).
