I've read the posts that say I can.  I just need to know it's safe in my case...

I actually don't need to delete Portal0 if I could swap it with portal 9...

The DNN instance is not root but sits instead at Site.com/DNN [for example] .  Portal 0 is the parent of a couple of child portals.  Portal0 by default is the entry point to the site at Site.com/DNN  and the child portals are Site.com/DNN/child.

I want what is now Portal9 to have the alias Site.com/DNN , not Portal0, and the children can stay children where they are.

Input before I hack away...

Bob H.

I would simply change the PortalAliases around, set Portal0's alias to be something else. Then switch Portal 9's alias to be the one you want.

I would think you could delete Portal 0, but I've honestly never tried.

Whatever you do, backup everything first :D

Worked just like it should.  A non-event.  I just always thought Portal0 was special...

Thanks,

Bob

there is nothing special with portal 0 - you just might need to set "system portal" in Host Settings to another one before deleting it.
