This seems to be an old problem because I've tried in many DNN versions but nowhere seems to be working as expected. Including the latest 7.3.4.

I want to set up the registration form to ask for all required fields on the first registration page. For this I have to add the extra fields to the registration form:

Set Admin / Site Settings / User account settings / Registration form type to Custom and I fill the Registration Fields with all the fields I need but when I click Update, the fields I listed are all removed from the textbox and the registration type is set back to Standard.

It applies the changes in DNN 7.3.3 for the registration form but I can't see the changes in the settings.

I just tested and this works fine for me i.e. I changed to custom, went to the registration fields box, entered "ema" (at which point the form suggested "email" which I selected). I then pressed update at the end of the page, logged off and clicked register and saw only "email" required to register - http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-...

It turned out this was a known issue for multilanguage sites and an SQL command fixed the problem.
