Hello all,  I have several very broad questions about DNN and it's capabilities.  I am not a DNN user yet but researching the option.

  1. Can DNN allow me to give access to a user base to edit any copy on the website, not just info stored in the database?
  2. The site we are looking to use this for already exists.  I assume I would need to re-build the entire site over the DNN framework?
  3. A lot of the sites I've seen built on DNN have all or most of their pages as a query string (default.aspx?tabid=xxx).  This obviously doesn't translate well for search engines, are there ways around this to have static pages of content on the site?
So as you can tell, what I'm looking for is a all-encompassing CMS system that will allow our employees to manage the content without needing to go through me (the only web developer and obvious bottleneck in the current process).  I'd rather not have to rebuild our entire site from the ground up, and love seeing what DNN has to offer; however, I'm not sure it's the right fit.

So I'll start with these questions and I'm sure there'll be more.
Thanks!

You should start with the documentaion files from the downloads area - these will address items #1 & 3 and give you some things to consider in the development.  There are also several new docs added recently that are very helpful.

For #2 - from my view you would need to reconstruct the site in DNN.  This is a challenge only in the fact that there are many options of modules to choose to present the information.  I'm going through this right now as well, and have to be careful not to just dump al the existing HTML into different Text/HTML modules on the different pages, but it could be as simple as that.
