What happens when go to 7.4? That wiki probably says 7.3.3 because that was the latest version when the wiki was late updated.

I tried upgrading from 6.2.9 to 7.0.0, 7.2.0, 7.4.0 all of which of which gave me generic runtime errors.

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An exception occurred while processing your request. Additionally, another exception occurred while executing the custom error page for the first exception. The request has been terminated.

In looking at the Event Logs it appears that this is the same "LoacalSqlServ' issue I reported earlier.

Any weird modules or skin objects in play?  Maybe there is some locally written module/skin object that expects the LocalSqlServer setting.  Do you have any clue what code is looking for LocalSqlServer?

Best wishes,

Here is what is in my web.config:

<connectionStrings>
<remove name="LocalSqlServer" />
<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 -->
<add connectionString="Server=ASWWEB;Database=ASWDotNetNuke;User ID=*******;Password=*******" name="SiteSqlServer" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
</connectionStrings>

This works fine on my installation at DNN 6.2.9, however when I upgrade to DNN 7.3.3 (Or any DNN 7 version) I get the following:

The connection name 'LocalSqlServer' was not found in the applications configuration or the connection string is empty.

It references the Machine.config. As stated earlier, If I comment out the <remove name="LocalSqlServer" /> I get other issues. However, in 6.2.9, it works fine with that line commented out.

Need some quick assistance on this. Thanks.
