I am trying to install a dnndev.me development set up on my windows 7 desktop.
I added 127.0.0.1 dnndev.me to the host file (even tried adding #PRE as well) , added dnndev.me to the  bindings of the default website.
Pointed default website path to my dnndev.me folder and added the app pool permissions.
I also tried moving all the install files to www root as well but whenever I browse to dnndev.me I get bounced to localstart.asp, if i use localhost/dnndev.me I get a blank screen with no install form.
I made sure the default.aspx was first in the IIS default document list but no result. I followed all the steps I had from an earlier post and also the detailed setup instructions we created after a successful setup on a remote virtual server.

If you browse to dnndev.me/logo.gif do you see the logo image in the browser?

I do not have that file in my dnn folder so I added a basic htm page,  error message =

The page cannot be displayed
Error Type:
Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A0046)
Permission denied: 'GetObject'
/localstart.asp, line 19

Need to give the Folder permissions (IIS_USERS and NETWORK SERVICES) and also check with app pool framework version.

I thought that all permissions were now run under the appPool (which is 4.0), I know Network service etc was used pre IIS  versions////

Anyway I added them just in case but no difference
