I have 3 sites running and they all have sql connections that will not close.  This is the sql command run that will not close according to sql activity monitor.

(@0 datetime);Exec dbo.SearchDeletedItems_Select @0

I don't know what module is causing this?

Which DNN Version are you running?
Please run the folliowing Statement from Host > SQL:
SELECT Count(1) N FROM dbo.SearchDeletedItems
I assume there are too many deleted items in your search store, but Need more details to provide you with the best suggestions.

These are three separate DNN instances. 2 running 7.4 and one running 7.3.4. The query returned 1 result of 0.

One of these sites is a fresh install with DNNSharp Action Grid as the only 3rd party module and the connections on it are always maxed even though it is not being used

I haven't seen it before. Did you make sure to have a single worker process per app pool?
