Have the same problem...

Fresh installation of 4.34, folders have write permission (since host account can upload),
admin has 'security error' only with fck.

I was having the same problem when logged in as a registered user. The registered user had view & write permissions to
/portals/#/images but not the portal root.

I was trying to upload by clicking the 'insert/edit image' button in the editor then selecting the upload tab and trying to upload from that tab. It popped up the error Anthony was getting. I then tried going to the main tab clicking browse server, then clicking the 'images' folder... I then noticed you could upload from this page which I did successfully into the images folder.

Would I be right in thinking that when the images window is opened it defaults to the root directory, so by going straight to the upload tab I was trying to upload into the root directory. To which I didn't have permissions, hence the error? Maybe this is what is happening to others?

On the upload tab maybe you should have a way to first select the folder into which the file is to go? Or remove this tab and have everyone go through the 'Browse Server' onthe first tab?

Thanks for a very good editor control, but I have the same problem when changing from standard edit control to FCKeditor with gallery image:

1. Only view the images have been upload on the root by host user, the admin user can not view.
2. Admin user just see the sub folder and can not upload image with error message is no permission.
