We have a Web Farm enabled (two web servers) DNN installation version 07.03.04 (45) on which we have installed DNNSharp ActionForm & Grid (latest versions).  On page load of the Grid, the WebServers table LastActivityDate is updated causing the site to restart.  Obviously, this results in the site stalling for 30 seconds or more.  The physical path of the instance is on a NAS share.

We've been in contact with DNNSharp, but so far they do not have a Web Farm installation to test with to recreate the problem (it does not happen for non-Web Farm instances).  In the hope of troubleshooting/finding a workaround, what are the conditions in DNN that cause the LastActivityDate to be updated?

Any thoughts are appreciated...

Thanks... Jim

I don't have a web farm either. Based on a trivial test, on a non web farm - I found that changing the web config caused the date to update *when the server restarted after the web.config change*.

Based on that I suspect it may be the other way round. Something else is causing your site to restart. When it restarts it updates that date.

Best wishes,

Thank you Richard... based on your observation we will take another look at the sequence of events.  We do consistently see 'Web server updated' in the Event Log before the 'Application Started' message, although I'm sure with caching and other things it isn't reliable to assume that is the true order of events.
