OK, I'm new to DNN, but have picked up the general concept I believe. I've had great success in skinning different pages and containers, etc.... but I'm at a loss in how to change some things.

For example, the "login" form and the "register" form seem to be untouchable, other than changing color/text through CSS.

I understand that I can go directly into the .ascx pages (signin/register) and modify the layout there as I wish...but this seems to be a bad idea in the long run, because they will be overwritten if I ever upgrade.

So IS this the only solution, or is there a better way to do this?

DNN is awesome.

Dear

Of course you can make always your own control.

There are also third-party modules which you can buy (rather than creating a new control yourself) and you can edit their source or in most cases they have more flexibility built into them.
