In our current, non DNN environment, we use Microsoft NLB with content stored on each member server.  We have started investigating requirements for storage if DNN is used.  Can someone please provide advice or documentation that discusses this?

I have come across other forum posts that talk about using UNC paths, and others that talk about using DFS.

Hi Ron,

On the "Web Farm Configuration Guide" (http://info.dnnsoftware.com/WebFarmGu...) you can find information about both approaches. While DFS can work for almost static/read-only sites, IMHO the best approach is using SMB. When using DFS you would have to pay special attention to the file and cache synchronization.

 hi David

this would be for frequent changed content

if smb only is used, what happens if that smb connection goes down and the unc path is unavailable?  what is the best approach there?
