I am trying to help a 7.4 site adjust the appearance of the site to eliminate the floating space on the left side of the panes.  I copied the Gravity folder to a new folder, making that the skin of choice, and changed the CSS to not have any left margin and did some other random changes but none of my changes have made any difference.

It has been a long time since I did any CSS work and what little knowledge I had is very poor.  I would appreciate any advice or pointers about how to change the skin so the panes start at the left margin of the browser window.

Thanks!

did you recycle the application after you made the css changes (as otherwise they're cached)

If it started life as DNN7 site it may have the client directive to cache forever. You may need to clear the *browser* cache as well to see this. Or increment the count in host settings.

Thanks for your replies. I had taken those steps. I did restart the application from the Host menu and the local browser cache was cleared with no joy. I was wrong about the version, however; the site is running 07.00.06 (121).

I am quite sure that I have not changed the proper CSS objects. Here is what I did in the new skin which I copied from Gravity:

In skin.css changed .spacingLeft { margin-left: 3px;} from 30px

In groups.css changed
.contentPane {
margin-left:0px; from 130px.

Any pointers about which objects to manipulate would be great.

Thanks again!

Random changes are the enemy of control.

Use your browser's client tools (typically F12) to determine *exactly* what class controls the left margin. That's the one to change.
