I keep seeing a mysterious behavior where in some folders (not consistent) when I go to review the list of files, I see that all the files in the folder have taken on a "Date Modified" that is the current minute. As if some process has touched all the files in the folder at once. Has this behavior been reported before? I've noticed it before, doesn't seem totally predictable. For example, just checking now in my dev environment, every folder I visit, I see all the files have the current minute as the Date Modified.

Investigating with DNN Support, they suspect a correlation with the DNN site crawler scheduled task, but that wouldn't explain why it would change modification dates if it's just reading the files.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Evoq has some special features to index files for search, this might affect file datetime (though I agree it shouldn't). As this feature is not contained in DNN platform, it is hard to validate by the community. Maybe you might be able to turn it off temporarily to check, whether the issue remains.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks very much for the quick response! Your idea is in line with what DNN support was suggesting. I've doublechecked, however, and in my scheduled tasks, the File Crawler and Site Crawler tasks are currently disabled. This is the weirdest thing - I just logged in and opened up File Manager again from one of the portal of our installation and, sure enough - just looking in the Templates folder, every file now has the Date Modified set to the exact minute I clicked the folder. 

By the way, I forgot to mention this is Evoq Content 7.3.2.

We are not using the native site search, so the File Crawler nor Site Crawler is not necessary for us to run. We did have DNNSharp SearchBoost installed initially, but have removed it completely along with any of its tasks.

I'm hoping you or another forum member may have another idea what might be causing this - nobody's complained yet, but it really seems detrimental for when I'll want to do file cleanup later on.

If you see the modified date in Admin > File Management, it might be caused by DNN FileSync, which syncs the File table in the database with the Content of the Portal Folders.
There is a Feature called auto-sync, which syncs the Content of the currently viewed Folder in File Management or wherever you are able to select a file. You may try turning it off in Host Settings (last tab). Also, you may compare the "last Updated" date of the record in DNN with the modified date of the file itself, which may differ.
