I have 10 domains. But the sites are almost same and will use the same modules. So I think developing the sites as sub portals and pointing the domains for the sub-portals would be better for me. Am I correct?

My question is - will this be slower my all sites and will it not run smoother? Performance-wise is there any issue? Will it be better to use separate DNN installations for all 10 sites? Is that better than using one installation with 10 sub-portals?

If we go ahead with sub portals option, what do we expect and what should we request from te hosting server provider?

Please, can you advise?

Y Ma,

I would not use 10 installations, but I wonder if sub-portals are the correct way. I would create 10 portals in one installation, and to be able to share content and the user base, I would take use of the portal groups feature. There is no UI included in the DNN Platform (only in Evoq), so you can either set this up in the database itself (there are some blogs around how to do it) or use the SiteGroup Editor for the DNN Platform by Stefan Cullmann.

Happy DNNing!
Michael

I agree with Michael, there will be a minor performance decrease, if you add portals to your DNN; But it might be higher for separate websites, depending on the resources of the sever.
