I want to give a specific role permission to alter users' password and create new user.   I want this role completely not be able to access the admin feature.  I want to disable the ribbon.  Is it possible to do that?

If so, please show me the steps to do.

Thanks,

Dong

Perhaps the easiest way to do that would be by creating a special Admin role, and give people in that role access only to the Admin pages that you want them to be able to use.

Thanks Joe,

I did that by creating a role which be allowed to access "Reset Password" and "Create New Account" pages.  But that makes the ribbon appear with Modules and Pages links accessible to this role.  Can I disable Modules and Pages links in the ribbon through some settings while allowed ribbon shown up?  By the way, I am using DotNetNuke 6.0.

In Site Settings (Usabilit section) you may specify, whether users with module edit and no page edit permission get displayed the Control Panel, besides there is no option for it.

Thanks Sab,

I tried that but it did not work.   The Modules and Pages links still appear and are accessible in the ribbon.

I wonder where there is a way in which I can change a flag in database or customize the skin to hide these.

If not, maybe the last approach is to modify the Dotnetnuke source codes.

Anyone has tried to do the similar thing before.

Thanks
