History:

DNN 7.03.02 recently upgraded via suggested upgrade path from 4.08.02 -> 4.09.5 ->5.0404->5.06.08->6.02.08->7.03.04 

Core site working well, time to add SSL for eCommerce

Move domain to a dedicated IP for SSL, certificate is installed and site comes up under both http and https. BUT

Version Info:

DNN 7.03.0

JQuery 1.9.1

JQueryUI 1.10.3

Problem: DNN Menu  not displaying for Chrome or IE, and can disappear in FF. Looked up the problem, need to switch to a non custom skin while custom skin can be tweaked. Except no dropdown works in host settings, skins or any other admin control works, nor does the 'Update' button, so even checkbox changes can not be saved.    I've read of this problem on this forum the suggested solution was to switch to DarkKnight while site skin can be fixed.  However, even in the database, there is a SkinPackages entry for DarkKnight, but no Skin entry.  

Is there an entry in the web.config that might need updated? All of theses issues have javascript in common.

 

Thoughts, Ideas, Bueller?

I would isolate the offending script using your preferred browser developer tool.  Then modify it or remove it from the skin.  This would require that you can access the skin files via FTP or something like Web Matrix.

You never know.  It might just be one simple javascript error.

Have you used the browser's F12 tools to see if you can find any errors or files not being loaded? That might be a good place to check initially.
